We had a great weekend in Dayton celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the activation of the 4th Fighter Group at Debden in 1942. Be sure to check out the NEWS section for a little info. A4FG members can find more content in the members section.
There were so many great moments during the weekend. Watching the reaction of museum goers when they learned there were 4th Fighter Group vets around - people wishing to shake their hands, thanking them for their service. The guys created a stir wherever they went. Having original Debdenites at the bar in the Belly Tank for the first time in 67 years was a site to behold. And while the museum's P-51D is not decked out in 4th markings (c'mon guys, what are you waiting for?) the site of them standing beneath a red-nosed Mustang made for a fitting end to our day at the museum.
We have also added a profile page for 334's Willard "GI" Gillette.
We will be adding more on the 70th Celebration's festivities as time pemits. In the meantime, if you have information about a 4th vet and would like to share it with us please use the Contact Us form by clicking on the last selection in the navigation bar on our home page.
Cheers,
Tim
