And...we're off!

After months of planning and hours of development, our site is finally up and running!  While it is a bit austere at the moment, we have big plans for the site.  In addition to adding to our current lineup of pages, we have 10 more pages already in development.

In the works are pages with the rosters of all the service units attached to the 4th, more mission pages (including the Russia Shuttle and the last big strafing show of the war on 16 April 1945), more bio pages, a page or pages dedicated to the Eagle Squadrons, a videos page and a page highlighting some unsolved 4FG mysteries - just to name a few.

And there will be more photos - lots more photos.

So stop in and visit regularly.  There's sure to be something new.

A little late for salutations, but HNY nonetheless.  We're going through the site to make sure the content we have is accurate for the go live date - still planning on 27 February at this point.

This September will mark the 70th anniversary of the group.

Coming Down To the Wire

Just a little more than two weeks to go before we go live.  There's still a lot to do.  We're finalizing the layout of the personnel bio pages, as well as tinkering with some other pages.  The difficult thing has been determining what makes the cut for the initial roll out and what gets pushed back to Phase II, Phase III...Phase XXIV...

This site will see a lot of activity over the next year as more content is added to existing pages and pages with new content are built and rolled out.

T minus 10 weeks and counting...

Well I've put this off long enough, so here is the blog for the Association and our website.  We've been working on and off on the site for a couple of months now and it's slowly taking shape.  Currently we're shooting to go live with the first phase of the site towards the end of February.

It will be a bit austere at first, with just some basic information available.  After that, we will continue with our "phased deployment" plan, adding content at specified intervals until the site is somewhat substantive.

More additions

As Christmas looms we've added to our original plan for Phase I of the site deployment by adding a Virtual Museum page to the History menu.

We have also revamped and expanded the Aviation artists section by adding artist photos, a short bio and a selection of 4FG images from each artist lised.  On board so far are Troy White, Steve Heyen and Wade Meyers, with requests out to several other well known folks in the genre.

Going forward, we hope to develop a full catalog of MACR's.  Currently we are looking at the best way to provide that resource.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to our planned 'go live' date...
