Warren Bauer Collection

Picture
Warren Bauer
Warren Bauer was an administrative officer from 1943-1945, assigned to various service units based at Debden.  He served primarily as a statistical or security officer with Detachment A, Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron of the 33rd Service Group, the 45th Service Squadron and  the 438th Headquarters and Base Services Squadron.  By 1945, he was the Group Statistical Officer and later, Station S-1.   His photos consist of group shots and images of events both on and of the base.  Some of the shots included were taken by the base photographic session, provided to Bauer by good friend Albert Olson, the group's photo officer.  Post war, Warren made a career in the Air Force, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.  Original captions from photos used when possible, and appear in quotations.
