Richard Groh Saranac Lake, New York
4th Fighter Group enthusiasts may not know Richard Groh by name, but they know his work. Richard created the dust jacket art for two separate editions of Grover C. Hall's 1,000 Destroyed. A self-taught artist, he learned from many of the old master aviation illustrators like Jo Kotula, Cal Smith, Walt Jeffries, James Triggs, and others. He has contributed artwork to many aviation publications and is the author of two books, Fifty Famous Fighters and The Dynamite Gang: The 367th Fighter Group in World War II. Richard's drawings are done with Prismacolor colored pencils.
