Joseph Sills Collection
Joe Sills
Joseph Sills was a crew chief assigned to 335. From mid-1943 on, Joe was responsible for all aircraft designated WD-A. For well over a year, that meant taking care of Pierce McKennon's mounts, including all four McKennon Mustangs named Ridge Runner. Joe and "Mac" became close friends. The subjects are unidentified in many photos. Original captions from photos used when possible, and appear in quotations.
